Noney Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters 22 Sector Assam Rifles and Inspector General of Assam Rifles (East) organised a Free Medical Camp at Village Veitum Khullen under Company Operating Base Kotlen in Kangpokpi District.
Free medical check-up was carried out after considering the important factors like age, lifestyle, family background and accounted health risks. Free medicines were also distributed following prescriptions of doctors.
Chief Medical Officer, Commandant, Dr MS Matthew and Assistant Commandant, Dr Joyshree Keisham of Noney Battalion were present along with Dr Jina (General Medicine), Dr Mascot (General Surgery), Dr Chitralekha (Dermatologist), and Dr Jangkhogin Kipgen (General Medicine), during the Free Medical Camp.
During the camp, locals were enlightened on basic healthcare issues and ailments like blood pressure, diabetes, fever, eye infection, thyroid, skin diseases, cold, flus, respiratory illnesses etc.
The camp also emphasized on dissemination of information on various guidelines and schemes like CM's Health for All Scheme, Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana etc.
While supporting the cause, individuals like Lenpu Haokip, Advisor of a local student organisation and local private companies like Vensar Construction Company voluntarily provided their assistance in terms of, adding to free generic medicines and distribution of snacks and biscuits for the poor people who had come to avail the free medical facilities.
A total of 315 civilians, including 156 adult male, 123 adult Female and 36 children, were given free treatment and were distributed free medicines.
