A ‘Free Children Heart Surgery Camp’ is being organised at Sky Hospital, RIMS Road, Imphal on September 3-9.

The main objective of the free medical camp is to save children from heart diseases, including infants suffering from birth heart defects, said Dr Shyamkishore Lairikyengbam, chairman and chief cardiologist of Sky Hospital and Research Centre on Friday.

The camp will give priority to infants and children up to the age of 18 years for below poverty line families, he added.

A team of 10 medical experts, including cardiologist and ICU nurses from Healing Little Heart, United Kingdom, will take part in the health camp, he mentioned.

Shyamkishore said that during the camp, patients will be treated in a first-come-first serve method and people can start getting appointments from June 6 onwards to the hospital itself.

He said the hospital had already organised four such camps earlier.
