In a collaborative effort, Shija Hospitals & Research Institute, Tripura Medical College, RBSK - Tripura, NHM - Tripura and the Directorate of Health Services, Government of Tripura will be organising a Free Heart Disease Screening Camp for children aged 0-18 years on Wednesday (October 11, 2023) from 9 am onwards at Tripura Medical College and Dr BR Ambedkar Memorial Teaching Hospital.
The camp aims to provide expert medical guidance and early detection for young patients at risk of heart-related conditions, Santosh Shekhar, DGM – Business Development & Operations for Shija Hospitals said in a release.
Dr Lukram Sidartha, Consultant Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgeon, Shija Hospitals & Research Institute, will be available for free consultations and ECHO screening during the camp.
Children experiencing symptoms like chest pain, breathlessness, palpitations, and suspected holes in the heart (congenital heart disease) are encouraged to undergo screening at the camp, the release stated.
Recognizing the importance of early detection and intervention, our expert medical team will assess and recommend appropriate courses of action, including device closure or open-heart surgery, if required. RBSK & Other Healthcare Scheme Beneficiaries will be provided free treatment at Shija Hospitals & Research Institute, Imphal, as per the release.
