Former minister Haokholet Kipgen from Saitu files nomination as independent candidate

Haokholet Kipgen from Saitu filed his nomination to the returning officer, Saitu assembly constituency with nomination paper No.1/LA/2022/RO-Saitu. His electoral roll number is 51/1-253.

Chief of Hengbung village from Saitu assembly constituency, former minister Haokholet Kipgen, filed his nomination as an independent candidate for the ensuing 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly Election 2022 on Thursday, becoming the first to file nomination in the district.

The former BJP national vice president ST Morcha filed his nomination to the returning officer, Saitu assembly constituency with nomination paper No.1/LA/2022/RO-Saitu. His electoral roll number is 51/1-253. The 67-year-old veteran politician has 10 proposers.

The third senior-most in the BJP in the hill districts of the state, Haokholet Kipgen was 99.9 per cent confident of the BJP ticket but was denied while the BJP ticket was allotted to his biggest rival and also a veteran Congress sitting MLA Ngamthang Haokip.
