PMMVY is a centrally Sponsored DBT scheme with cash incentive directly in the account of the pregnant women or lactating mothers for the first living child of the family, he explained.

The director appealed to the beneficiaries not to give any payments to any party to get the benefits of the scheme. The amount will come directly to the account of the beneficiaries if all the criteria are fulfilled and it is also eligible for the deliveries done in private hospitals, he added.

The government may reject any scheme’s application if one's documents do not match the information written on an aadhaar card, he said, adding the public should always keep a record of important cards and documents that match with the aadhaar cards.

He said for successful delivery of certain government schemes, there is a need for cooperation between the Social Welfare department and the Health department. Moreover, the two departments have many common goals such as eradicating malnutrition, the director added.
