Flight passenger found unconscious onboard, dies

A woman flight passenger, who was rushed to a hospital in Imphal after she landed unconscious, died at the hospital.

A 23-year-old woman flight passenger, who was found unconscious onboard a Delhi to Imphal (via Guwahati) flight, died after she was hospitalised at Asian Hospital Tuesday, sources said.

According to the sources, the deceased has been identified as one Rk Jims, 23, daughter of Rk Jacob from Shangching Village in Ukhrul district. She boarded the Delhi to Imphal (via Guwahati) Indigo flight (6E251) in seat number 29-A.

The sources said the passenger was found unconscious when her flight landed at the Bir Tikendrajit International Airport in Imphal around 9 am. The crew members immediately called for a medical team and an ambulance, and she was rushed to Asian Hospital at Kwakeithel, sources said.

“But the doctor declared her ‘brought dead’,” the sources said, adding, “Rk Jims might have had previous health complications”.

The police did not register a case regarding the incident as the family had not filed any complaints, the sources added.
