Financial aid for hailstorm affected VDF personnel

VDF Welfare Association, Thoubal district on Monday extended monetary assistance to 86 VDF personnel of the district, whose houses were damaged by the hailstorm.

In a bid to aid those affected by the recent heavy rains and hailstorm which wreaked havoc in Manipur on May 5, VDF Welfare Association, Thoubal district on Monday extended monetary assistance to 86 VDF personnel of the district, whose houses were damaged by the hailstorm.

The association carried out the activity under the initiative of Senior SP Thoubal Rakesh Balwal, as part of its continuous activities to ensure necessary assistance to the VDF personnel of the district in their times of need.

The monetary aid amounting to Rs 1,72,000 was sanctioned from the VDF Welfare fund, Thoubal. Additional SP (LO) Suraj, DHQ Thoubal RI, RO, ARO and members of the association were present at the event held at Thoubal district Police Head Quarter.

Speaking on the sidelines, president of Thoubal district VDF welfare association, Md Idrish noted the disaster strikes that occurred recently in the state, damaging many properties.

He said that among the victims of the heavy rains and hailstorms, are the VDP personnel, with meagre income. He further drew the attention of the chief minister to look into the matter.
