Federation of Haomee calls off bandh on Ukhrul road in Manipur

The Federation of Haomee has called off the bandh, which was imposed from September 21 in Ukhrul road, after a consultative meeting that was held on September 18 with the Health and Family Welfare minister, L Jayantakumar to discuss the issues relating to the district hospital of Ukhrul.

The meeting at the conference hall of the health minister was also attended by director of Health and Family Welfare, Dr Shyamjai, joint director (Health), Dr A Probin and deputy secretary (Health), S Lengen.

A release by the Federation of Haomee has stated that after the meeting the health department has assured to post five more specialists by September 19, which includes anaesthetist and doctors and surgeons of medicine, PMR, pathology and paediatric.

In the meeting it was also mutually agreed to have a joint visit at the hospital, and the department has assured to fulfil the requirements of the hospital based on the inspection to be carried out, said the release.
