He was speaking at the ‘Leader’s Meet for the Unit Level Committee Members, Youths and Mahilas under the BCC Thoubal’ organised by Thoubal Block Congress Committee (TBCC) at the office complex of Thoubal district Congress Committee.

“What is the value of democracy without the fundamental right to express one’s thoughts?” he questioned.
The people’s opinion about the ruling party which bullies and silences the people to get what they want will be reflected in the coming election, he added.

He continued that the term of office of a party is unpredictable in a democratic nation and to follow the constitution of democracy is the principle of the Congress party. The former CM also mentioned that the Congress party introduced the ‘Bharat Joro Yatra’ to save the value of democracy, he said.
