Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple Board (LSTB) with the help of Kabui Loishang performed the traditional method of extraction of sacred fire (Meiba Chingba) and prayed for the conclusion of the prevailing ongoing ethnic violence since the last nine months in the state.
LSTB Senior Member Keisam Ibomcha said that the ritual was performed on the 11th day of Wakching to be able to provide the sacred fire in every household for the upcoming Emoinu Erat Thouni and Gaan Ngai festival for the Kabui Community.
LSTB appealed to the public to take the sacred fire and pray for victory in the ongoing ethnic violence. LSTB Kabui Loisanggi Shanglakpa Kamson Gangmumei extracted the sacred fire after working on it for almost two hours.
Ibomcha said that according to the time taken of the extraction of the sacred fire the prediction is not good and should be careful in taking up any steps. A ritual will be performed to cast off the bad omen and victory will be ours at the end, he added.
The ritual is being performed by the Kabui Loishang in connection with the celebration of Emoinu Iratpa.
