‘Education in Basic Vocation Programme’ launched

The three-month training programme, to be conducted by district resource person PMFME Ak Jiten as the instructor, was organised in order to impart basic training of food processing.

An ‘Education in Basic Vocations Programme’ was launched by NYK Thoubal and HCC TBL, at Health Care Centre, Pakhangkhong Leirak in Thoubal on Thursday with the objective of imparting basic training in the field of food processing.

The programme was attended by project director of HCC W Biren Singh; advisor of NYK Thoubal K Loken Singh; and district youth officer of NYK Thoubal Michael Mate as the presidium members.

The three-month training programme, to be conducted by district resource person PMFME Ak Jiten as the instructor, was organised in order to impart basic training of food processing to the inmates of the centre and other young boys and girls of the centre to aid in their financial independence.

A short awareness programme on SVEEP and importance of exercising free and fair votes in the upcoming Manipur Assembly elections 2022 was also conducted in the programme.

The training programme commenced on Friday with the first session on the art of processing King Chili (U-morok), with similar sessions to follow for the remainder of the three-month programme.
