DSSS ends two-day training for Farmer Interest Groups

The Diocesan Social Service Society (DSSS) on Sunday concluded its two-day training programme on group management and bookkeeping for the Farmer Interest Groups (FIGs) leaders and executive members of Taosuam Farmer Producer Company Ltd under Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North Eastern Region (MOVCDNER) Phase III at Awangkhul under Noney District.

During the two-day training programme, DSSS Field Inspector Madam Martina and Miss Guangjuanliu Gonmei attended as resource persons in the presence of Gaisangam Kamei, CEO, TAOSUAM FPC Ltd.

The resource persons lectured and educated for the FIGs to equip their members with the necessary skills and knowledge to record and manage financial transactions related to their farming activities.

The training programme aimed to improve the financial management, transparency, accountability, access to credit, decision-making and compliance within the group. It is also to support the sustainable growth and development of the FIGs and its members’ farming operations.

The two-day training programme was organised mainly for the Farmers Interest Groups (FIGs) registered under TAOSUAM FPC Ltd and supported by Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA).

Moreover, the training programme was clubbed together for four clusters, 34 members including group leaders and executives of 11 Farmers Interest Groups (FIGs) who participated in the programme.
