A team of CDO Thoubal conducted a house search at Lilong Nungei Khunou and arrested two persons as they were found planning to process heroin from suspected brown sugar at 6:15 pm on Monday.
The arrested persons have been identified as one Moichingmayum Hasim, 27, son of Mohi of Lilong Nungei Khunou and Makakmayum Faruk, 22, son of M Ithem of Sikhong Thongthabi.
From the house of Moichingmayum Hasim, the team seized 37.73 kg of suspected brown sugar which were in solid and paste forms during the raid.
The team was led by additional SP (Ops) Thoubal O Wangkhomba and assisted by OC/ CDO Thoubal inspector N Sadananda Singh under the supervision of SP Thoubal Jogeshchandra Haobijam.
The arrested persons along with the seized articles were handed over to Lilong Police Station and a case has been registered for further necessary action.
