Manipur Chief minister N Biren Singh on Wednesday said that no one can tamper district boundaries by way of buying lands or installing signboards with false information, while stating that there is no new alteration in the district boundaries of the state since the conduction of Land Revenue Boundary Survey in 1960.

Concerning the importance of documentation in Land Revenue records, he informed that the state government had started the digitisation process for land records.

Lauding the efforts of the MIC towards documentation and record keeping, he admitted that most of the official documents of the state government such as gazettes, durbar ruling, state cabinet, Assembly and acts had been out of track.

Fortunately, many of the important documents have been recovered from private parties, he said, adding that the recovered documents have given a new insight to the state government to witness the real picture of Manipur’s past.
