Manipur BJP president A Sharda Devi on Thursday said that politicians should not play politics to get political mileage while doing any welfare and developmental works for the public.
She was speaking during the last day of her two-day visit to Tamenglong district in connection with Booth Parvash that was held at Khoupum on Thursday.
Some politicians are still politicizing their services to get political mileage which is not a sign of love towards the public, she said. The BJP always gives priority to the welfare of the public, and building emotional attachment with the public while serving them is an objective of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, she added.
Earlier, the benefits for the public including those given to pregnant women were looted, she said. However, with the launching of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), the beneficiaries started enjoying the benefits, Sharda added.
Contributions from women are necessary to create a developed and welfare state, and the BJP is always there to support the public in bringing development.
Local MLA and HAC chairman Dipu Gangmei, state BJP vice president N Nimbus and others attended the programme.
