‘Do not impose donations on Naga villages’

NSUI resolved the appeal during its executive meeting held in Imphal on Monday in connection with the ongoing situation in the state and to refrain from any untoward incidents related to it, stated a release.

The Naga Peoples Union Imphal (NPUI) on Tuesday appealed to all the Non-Naga communities of Manipur not to impose any kinds of force demands, donations, taxes and monetary approaches in all Nagas villages residing in Imphal, valley areas and foothills so as to avoid misunderstandings and unnecessary problems among the communities.

NSUI resolved the appeal during its executive meeting held in Imphal on Monday in connection with the ongoing situation in the state and to refrain from any untoward incidents related to it, stated a release.

It asserted that the Nagas, as a third community, are making efforts for amicable settlement between the two warring communities. It also expressed grief over the pain and suffering caused by the conflict and shared sorrow with those affected and the bereaved families who have lost their near and dear ones.
