Thoubal DC Ahanthem Subhash on Monday announced that legal action will be taken up against doctor and staff of District Hospital Thoubal if they caused any inconvenience to the patients of the hospital, while a show cause notice has also been filed on a doctor of the hospital against referring a patient for conducting a test at a private lab.
Speaking to the media, DC Subhash said that a facebook post alleged a doctor of the hospital for referring a child patient from Lamjao to a private lab for a test which is available at the district hospital. It said that the private lab charged a sum of rupees 1,500 for the test which can be done for free in the hospital.
Thoubal District hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Ruhinikumar has already identified the doctor and legal action will be taken up against the doctor. The hospital provides 133 types of tests 24X7 by opening a ‘Krishna Laboratory.’
Dr Ruhinikumar said that the hospital has already notified the doctors and nurses of the hospital not to refer the patients of the hospitals to any private lab for tests which is available at the hospital on November 14, 2023.
