WMC in its demands urged the Centre to contain, control and disarm the Chin-Kuki militants to bring normalcy in Manipur and to bring justice to the Meeteis, stated a release. The NRC solution and Land-law modifications are not the proper solutions to save Meetei, it asserted.

It said that the constitutional protection-ST status to Meetei is inevitable, adding that Meetei can not fall prey anymore to the changing dynamics of the geo-politics in the region. It also lamented over the effectiveness of the commitment allegedly given by the Union Home Minister during his last visit to the state.

It briefed on key points of SoO agreement with Kuki militants group, evidences of violating the SoO norms by Kuki militants group, misinformation in the media house on the HC orders on ST status to Meetei in Manipur, blockade of National Highway in Manipur and objections by the Kukis.

It further alleged the Centre of being a mute spectator to violation of SoO agreement norms by Kuki militants. WMC also urged the state government to immediately send the ethnography and latest socio-economic status of Meetei to the Ministry of Tribal affairs. It asserted that the National Highway blockade is a gross violation of basic human rights and demanded to punish those involved.
