Development impossible without local clubs' support: MLA Th Arunkumar

The MLA said that a local club should be very active as well as strong as its volunteers are the one who will be at the frontline in any issue that arises in the locality.

Stressing on the role of local clubs in a society, Wangkhei MLA Th Arunkumar, on Monday said development in a locality is impossible without the support of the local club. 

In this regard, he called on the local clubs to support the various developmental activities taken up by the government and concerned MLAs for heading towards a progressive society. 

Arunkumar was speaking to the media on the sideline of the 55th foundation day celebration of WAL United Youth's Club at Wangkhei Angom Leikai in Imphal East.

A gym, which was constructed at the club premises under the Civic Action Programme of the CRPF, was also inaugurated during the celebration besides inaugurating a bus stand constructed by the club.

The MLA said that a local club should be very active as well as strong as its volunteers are the one who will be at the frontline in any issue that arises in the locality. 

He recalled the contributions of the local clubs in every locality during the Covid pandemic in terms of distributing essential items, sanitising the locality and others.

Local clubs also play a very important role in paving careers for the future pillars by ways of introducing various sports and educational related events from time to time to encourage and motivate the youths, he added. 

Highlighting the importance and need of local clubs in a society, Arunkuamar congratulated the WAL United Youth's Club for their immense service with dedication to the locality of Wangkhei over the last 54 years.
