Despite being denied the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ticket, Khumukcham Jibon, who is also national secretary of BJP Kishan Morcha, has supported the BJP candidate of Oinam assembly constituency for the coming 12th Manipur State Assembly election.
State BJP president BJP A Sharda Devi told media at its state head office located at Nityaipat Chuthek, Imphal West on Wednesday that most of the intending candidates of the party who did not get the tickets, are still continuing to support the BJP candidate. She said that a real worker of BJP will never betray the party in order to get their vested interest or benefits.
She said after the announcement of BJP tickets, those who did not get tickets, they were approached by various political parties to contest from their respective political parties. However, being a real BJP worker most of them denied their proposal.
She further said the party will continue to support members who did not get tickets but are still with the party.
K Jibon said that before the announcement of BJP tickets, he was also one of the aspiring candidate from Oinam assembly constituency. However, he has no regret with the decision of party’s command regarding the distribution of BJP tickets, he said.
“I will continue to serve and work for the welfare of the people of Oinam assembly constituency and for the development of BJP party”, said Jibon. He joined the BJP in 2019 in New Delhi in the presence of BJP national leaders including former Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.
