Demands of Ima Keithel vendors will be fulfilled: MoS RK Ranjan

Twenty-five women vendors representing the Khwairamband Ima Keithel no. 1 and Khwairamband Imoinu Ima Keithel Saktam Kanba Lup (KHIIKSKL) met with Union Minister of State for Education and External Affairs RK Ranjan on Tuesday.

Representatives of Khwairamband Ima Keithel no. 1 and Khwairamband Imoinu Ima Keithel Saktam Kanba Lup (KHIIKSKL) on Tuesday met with Union Minister of State for Education and External Affairs RK Ranjan who assured them that their demands will be fulfilled.

A release by KHIIKSKL stated that the demands include providing safe drinking water, inclusion of Ima Keithel women vendors in the various programmes under PM Modi’s Digital India, providing the benefits of Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises Scheme for the women vendors and setting up an ATM booth.

It stated that the 25 women vendors representing the Khwairamband Ima Keithel no. 1 and Khwairamband Imoinu Ima Keithel Saktam Kanba Lup (KHIIKSKL) met with Union Minister of State for Education and External Affairs RK Ranjan in a session which lasted more than 45 minutes. 

It mentioned that RK Ranjan had assured that he will prioritise the demands of the women vendors.

In the meeting, representatives of Ima Keithel informed the minister on the conditions of the market and urged for immediate attention, it stated. The Ima Keithel representatives also commended Minister Rk Ranjan for his initiative in the Indian Parliament for the development of the Ima Keithel, it added.
