Demand raised for release of Barish Sharma

The Wal United Youths’ Club, Meira Paibis and locals of Wangkhei Angom Leikai on Monday demanded the immediate and unconditional release of Manoharmayum Barish Sharma, who was arrested by police on May 27.

M Barish Sharma, son of M Balaraj Sharma of Wangkhei Ningthem Pukhri Mapal in Imphal East district, was arrested on baseless allegations by a combined police team on May 27 in the wee hours around 2.30 AM, stated a release. It was also mentioned that no warrants or arrest memos were given to the family during the time of his arrest.

Club members, Meira Paibis and locals of surrounding areas decried Barish’s arrest and demanded his unconditional release at the earliest in order to prevent any untoward incidents.
