Over 1,000 students of three schools in Pangaltabi in Kakching district, namely Model Pangaltabi High School, Borni Memorial English School and Saraswati Bal Bidya Mandir carried out a protest demanding inclusion of Meetei in the ST list of India under the banner of World Meetei Council (WMC) on Monday.

The students carried out a rally along the National Highway covering over a kilometre stretch, stated a release.

They displayed placards which read ‘We Want ST, the only way to save Meetei’ and chanted slogans like ‘We want ST; save indigenous people; send the two reports at the earliest’ etc, it mentioned.
