Candidates who had given interviews for recruitment of 88 assistant professors at DMU have appealed to the authorities concerned to declare the result of the selection interview swiftly as the final result had been withheld for over a year.
According to the candidates, the interviews of shortlisted candidates for the recruitment kicked off from September 2021 and ended in June 2022.
As such, they urged the authorities to ramp up the result declaration procedures in the interest of the candidates.
Speaking to the media at Manipur Press Club, one of the candidates, Laishram Surbala, highlighted that numerous candidates who had given interviews were almost crossing the age validity for job application while several others were waiting for the results to be declared.
"Our hopes and aspirations are all riding on the result. The delay in declaring results has seriously demoralised and impacted the knowledge, wisdom and creativity of the candidates," she said.
She highlighted that DM University had published the notification for the recruitment of 88 assistant professors on December 19, 2020 after which several candidates were shortlisted for interviews from thousands of applications.
She mentioned that the Higher and Technical Education Department had also assured to declare the result in a release.
Even the Education minister had assured the same in the Assembly sessions but the assurance never materialised, she added.
She informed that the result for the recruitment for 31 assistant professors for Manipur Technical University was declared within no time after the interviews which took place around the same time as DMU's.
They have begun their service while we are waiting hopelessly for the result for over a year now, she added.
As such she drew the attention of authorities of DM University and state education department to declare the results swiftly in the interest of the candidates.
"At this point we only want the result so that we can move on with our careers and other academic pursuits," she stated.
