The Association of Written Test Candidates for Recruitment of Forest Guards and Other Allied Posts, 2019 on Monday urged the Manipur government and Forest department to declare the results of the written tests conducted in 2020 for the recruitment of forest guards and allied posts.
Addressing a press conference at Manipur Press Club, association secretary Sukham Bidananda said the written tests were conducted on February 16, 2020 after a notification issued by the state Principal Chief Conservation of Forest and MOFF on January 25, 2019 for forest guards and allied posts.
It has been almost two years since the written test result was not declared and surprisingly, the deputy secretary of forest and environment and CC issued a notice on November 11, 2022 through a letter to Principal Chief Conservation of Forest to reconduct the recruitment of 70 posts of forest guard, he said. The association will not agree to the recruitment as the state government is yet to declare the previous results, he said.
He mentioned that as many as 3,121 candidates took the written test. Due to the delay in declaring the results, some of the candidates became age-barred and went into depression, he added.
The association urged the authorities concerned to declare the result as soon as possible or else appropriate action will be taken up, he said.
