Curfew in Imphal East and Imphal West districts have been relaxed from 5 am to 9 pm for Thursday (September 21), to facilitate the general public in procurement of essential items, including food and medicines.
According to the latest notifications issued by the respective district magistrates on Wednesday, the relaxation has been made in view of the development of law and order in the districts.
The statement further said that the relaxation will, however, not apply to any gatherings/large-scale movement of persons/sit-in-protests/rallies etc. without obtaining permission from the competent authority.
It mentioned that movement of persons belonging to essential services such as health, electricity, PHED, petrol pumps, schools/colleges, municipality, press and electronic media, functioning of courts and to and fro movement of flight passengers to the airport will be exempted from the imposition of curfew after the expiry of the said period of relaxation.
