The government has relaxed curfew in Imphal East and Imphal West districts from 5 am to 6 pm pm for Tuesday (August 15), stating that there has been considerable improvement of law-and-order situations in the two districts.
According to orders issued by the respective district magistrates on Monday, curfew has been relaxed in both districts in order to facilitate the general public in purchasing essential items, including medicines and food.
However, movement of persons belonging to essential services such as health, electricity, PHED, petrol pumps, schools/colleges, municipality, power (MSPDCL/MSPCL), press and electronic media, functioning of courts and to and fro movement of flight passengers to the airport will be exempted from the imposition of curfew after the expiry of the said period of relaxation, it mentioned.
