The Manipur government has further relaxed the curfew timings for all areas in Imphal East and Imphal West districts from 5 am to 6 pm for Saturday (August 12), citing "considerable improvement of law and order".
As per orders issued by the respective district magistrates on Friday, the curfew has been relaxed in both districts in order to facilitate the general public to purchase essential items, including medicines and food.
It further mentioned that movement of persons belonging to essential services such as health, electricity, PHED, petrol pumps, schools/colleges, municipality, power (MSPDCL/MSPCL), press and electronic media, functioning of courts and to and fro movement of flight passengers to the airport will be exempted from the imposition of curfew after the expiry of the said period of relaxation.
