Communist Party of India Manipur State Council (CPI-MSC) on Saturday extolled young Manipuri climate activist Licypriya Kangujam, following her story being included in the CBSE English syllabus, all the while recounting her relentless and immense passion towards the fight against climate change.
CPI-MSC, in a release, highlighted the profound initiatives taken by the young activist, which gained her national and international recognition for her efforts to raise awareness about climate change and its impacts.
Stressing the need to tackle the climate crisis, it urged the public to support and follow Licypriya’s steps for urgent action on climate change. People must come together willingly and contribute their efforts to mitigate the impacts of climate change, it added.
CPI-MSC also lauded the sportspersons of the State upon their stupendous performances in the 37th National Games, making the state among the top states in the medal tally, the release said. It praised the players for their determination and perseverance to ensure the same amid the ongoing crisis in the state.
It is the unwavering resilience and grit of the sportspersons which enabled Manipur to earn the title of ‘the powerhouse of sports’ in the country, despite the state being a small one, it mentioned. The party has been making necessary efforts to boost the sports sector and will continue to initiate measures for the welfare of the sportspersons, it added.
