The Communist Party of India, Manipur State Council (CPI, MSC) on Monday condemned the chief minister's statement regarding the Central government taking control of the hills while the state government take responsibility for the valley.

A release issued by CPI-MSC office secretary Th Robindro Singh claimed that the people cannot accept such vague statements. It questioned if the government is conspiring for secret separate administrations within the state and demanded clarification.

“The union government should hand over unified command to the state chief minister and should the chief minister be considered incompetent, a competent alternative in his stead should be appointed,” the CPI stated.

The CPI-MSC also demanded the government to take up actions against the armed external aggressors and to stop further dividing the hills and valley and to stop the practice of communal politics.
