In a release on Sunday, CPCM said that there have been numerous physical assaults on the Muslims in both valley and hill areas of the state.

It recalled that two Muslim drivers Sahir @ Sana of Khestri Bangon Awang Leikai and Abir Khan of Sora were assaulted by a mob in allegations of being good transporters for Kukis on October 19 after the incident in which a security force driver posted in Moreh was also severely assaulted leaving him a mute.

It lamented that one of the two injured drivers, Sahir @ Sana 33, succumbed to his injuries at Raj Medicity. It questioned the government if Manipur society is under democracy or mobocracy, is there any point of having a government if it failed to maintain the rule of law and law and orders of the state, if the state forces duty is to only collect the injured and dead bodies assaulted by mobs and has the government given licence to kill and assault the Muslim community.

It urged the government to bring out the culprits at the earliest and award befitting punishment. CPCM will support every protest carried out regarding the death.
It expressed the need to stand against the mob culture in the state and appealed to the CSOs to also stand against the culture.
