CoTU clarifies over scuffle among IRB trainees in Assam

The Committee on Tribal Unity (CoTU), Sadar Hills expressed dismay about the reported incident of Kuki-Zo IRB trainee’s involvement in the scuffle among the trainees in Assam on Saturday evening, clarifying that none of the Kuki-Zo IRB trainees were involved in the scuffle.

Rather, the fight was between the Meitei and Tangkhul-Naga trainees, CoTU claimed. 

CoTU only wants the IRB training to go smoothly, specifically without any threat to the lives of the Kuki-Zo recruits, it further added.

The committee also conveyed its anticipation that the training will take place peacefully and without any criminal activity. CoTU asked the Assam Rifles personnel and other officers stationed at the camp to thoroughly investigate the matter and give befitting punishment to all involved in the incident.
