Despite the state government’s inability to locate the bodies of the two Kuki-Zo volunteers brutally killed in the Phailengmol region of Sadar Hills, Kangpokpi District, on April 13, CoTU has resolved to conduct their burial ceremony on May 24 as per the tradition and custom of the Kuki-Zo community.

CoTU general secretary Lamminlun Singsit said that the inability to find the two dead bodies even after a month highlights the deep division between the two communities, and consequently, we have made the decision to hold a burial ceremony to honor our two fallen heroes in accordance with our customs and traditions.

Highlighting the programme of the burial ceremony, he said the Kuki-Zo community across Sadar Hills Kangpokpi District will lay the fallen heroes to rest at the Martyrs Cemetery at Phaijang on May 24 with the highest honour and tribute.
