Chramram Segment Voice (CSV) on Sunday decried the non-completion of PMGSY road construction from Thiulon to Impa, in Tousem subdivision of Tamenglong.
CSV president Loveson Kamei stated that construction of the PMGSY road from Thiulon to Impa village was started by M/S HVS Construction Materials Private Limited in 2018. However, the contractor has left the work site, he said.
He was speaking to reporters during a press conference at Council Colony, Tamenglong Ward No. 6.
He further said that the construction work has been halted and no labourers are stationed at the work site till date. Therefore, the people of Chramram Segment have urged all the concerned authorities to resume the construction work and complete it at the earliest possible time, he added.
“People of Chramram Segment have given 15 days to the concerned authority to start the work starting from today, February 11, 2024. And if the voice of the people is not respected or heard, the people of Chramram Segment will not remain mere spectators but will take swift action to those erring work agencies in the interest of the general public”, he stated.
He further informed that despite minister Y Khemchand Singh inspecting the work in 2022, no progress has been made.
Chramram Segment Voice has been closely monitoring the developmental work in the segment and several work inspections have been carried since 2021, he added.
He fervently requested all concerned authorities to resume the construction work at the earliest and complete the road in the interest of the people of Chramram segment.
