The Zeliangrong Baudi, Manipur, Zeliangrong Youth Front and the Zeliangrong Students’ Union on Saturday stated that the allegation levelled upon the leaders of Zeliangrong Baudi and the frontal organisations leaders in connection with the consultative meeting with the 7NNPGs on June 7 at Dimapur is completely wrong and baseless.

In a joint statement, the media and publicity cell of Zeliangrong Civil Organisations (ZCOs) stated that it is dismayed over the joint press statement which appeared in different newspapers on Friday, and compelled the ZCOs to issue a clarification.

Prior information was intimated to the president Zeliangrong Baudi (AMN) over telephone regarding the invitation extended to Naga tribal hohos, including Zeliangrong Organisations of Manipur by the 7NNPGs for a consultative meeting and there was no objection or reaction from the president, Zeliangrong Baudi (AMN) either, it stated.

It is also considered that attending the consultative meeting convened by different political groups which are engaging in political negotiation for peaceful political settlement is not a crime, it stated.

The ZCO leaders right after attending the consultative meeting with the 7NNPGs straight away drove down to Jalukie from Dimapur, and had a cordial and fruitful discussion at the residence of the president ZB Nagaland CR Zeliang, regarding the points and issues raised by the ZCOs leaders during the consultative meeting with the 7NNPGs, it mentioned.

As per Zeliangrong Baudi Constitution Article 15 E (iii), (vi) every state unit is empowered to tackle and deal pertaining to the affairs of any issues under its respective jurisdiction, therefore, it is the binding obligation to discharge its constitutionally empowered responsibilities in the interest of the people, it stated.

Hence, the joint statement issued by the president ZB (AMN) along with ZB Nagaland president and ZB Assam president can be considered as an infringement and pure interference which is a clear violation of the constitutional provisions, it added.

The leaders of ZCOs appeal to members of all the political groups to refrain from making harsh and intimidating words which are against the peace process and against the wishes of the people, it added.
