A constable died while an ASI sustained injuries in a road mishap at Bongyang along Imphal-Moreh road, Tengnoupal district on Friday at around 7.30 am. The victims were part of the escort team of Additional SP(Ops) Moreh Md Riyajuddin who came on a gypsy.

As per reports, the Additional SP(Ops) team was on their way to Moreh from Imphal.
The deceased constable is Md Abdul Latif of Sangaiyumpham Part-2 Cherapur Mathak Leikai while the injured ASI is Md Yunus of Keirao, Imphal East; he is undergoing treatment at Shija Hospital.

Tengnoupal Police Station registered a case on the incident and the body of the deceased has been handed over to his family members after conducting a post mortem at JNIMS mortuary.
