Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhoumik said the Congress party created gross devastation in Manipur during its 15-year tenure.
During those 15 years, the people of Manipur witnessed total unrest, with numerous alleged fake encounter cases, bandh and blockade and corruption cases, Bhoumik said during her address at a public meeting at Keirenphabi, Bishnupur district.
The public meeting was held after a BJP flag hoisting ceremony at the residence of Thanga MLA Tongbram Robindro in Keirenphabi. Robindro is also the BJP candidate of Thanga Assembly Constituency (AC) in the ensuing Manipur Assembly Election 2022.
The Union minister said, "Manipur has started witnessing a peaceful and progressive life in the five-year rule of the BJP-led government, with zero fake encounter cases and zero days of blockade".
"It is the BJP which always stands for the rights and works for the secureness and welfare of the public, she said, adding, “Let us not make the mistake of re-electing Congress which declined in the state.”
Appreciating the immense effort of Robindro for the well-being of the people of Thanga AC, Bhoumik said, “At the same time Robindro also needs the support and blessing of the people of Thanga in the upcoming election to continue serving the public better.”
Works Minister Th Biswajit in his speech stated that BJP is fixing almost all the devastation created by the Congress in the 15-year tenure, in the five years by the state government led by the BJP.
By introducing various welfare schemes, programmes and missions under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the people of Manipur have started witnessing a fruitful life, she contended.
Where there is BJP, there will be development and peace, she said, adding, "Going together with the BJP is the same as going with success." Those unfaithful former BJP ticket contenders who left the BJP and chose Congress and other parties are like moving towards the end of their career, she added.
The minister recalled that the renaming of Mt Harriet into Mt Manipur in honour of the unsung war heroes of Manipur and the extending of ILPS in Manipur by the BJP-led government led by Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah is the biggest gift to the people of Manipur by the BJP.
On behalf of the BJP, Biswajit promised to make Thanga AC an economically stable and progressive constituency and asked the voters to study the differences between the Congress regime and the BJP regime before casting their valuable votes.
Robindro in his speech expressed gratitude to the people of Thanga AC as it is their support and blessing which he was able to serve them by being their representative.
Further expressing dissatisfaction for being unable to take up all the welfare activities during his five-year MLA term, he assured to serve people of Thanga AC better in the near future.
“Forgetting all the past enmity and grudges, let us all unite and move towards development to make a progressive Thanga AC,” Robindro appealed to the people.
