The Irabot Memorial Trust on Friday alleged the Central Government of planning war in the state by openly supporting the Kuki militants under SoO and attempting to suppress the indigenous Meitei community.

The trust, in a release, accused the Centre of playing a prominent role in escalating violence in the state, asserting that the central paramilitary forces and army companies are allegedly assisting the armed militants.

It also condemned the national media for fabricating reports of the conflict. It expressed discontentment over the alleged failure of the government to intervene in the crisis, and instead leaving the people to fend for themselves against the armed militants with sophisticated weapons.

It urged the state leaders and representatives to strive earnestly and chalk out swift measures to save the indigenous people and the state’s integrity from the militants. It further demanded to convene a special assembly session and take necessary actions to end violence and restore normalcy in the state at the earliest.
