Committee resolves to expel drug traffickers

Any individual found trafficking drugs in Kiyamgei Muslim to be permanently expelled from the locality.

The Committee Against Anti-social Elements, Kiyamgei Muslim on Wednesday resolved that anyone found involved in drug trafficking in the area will be permanently expelled from their locality.

The resolution was taken during a one-day public meeting cum anti-drug awareness campaign held at Kiyamgei Thong, Imphal East.

The meeting also resolved that the three surrounding villages i.e. Kiyamgei Meitei, Kiyamgei Muslim and Basikhong will work together after forming a committee against anti-social activities in the area.

It mentioned that any individual found trafficking drugs in Kiyamgei Muslim will be permanently expelled from the locality. If any drug users are found involved in anti-social activities in the area, then the drug trafficker who is involved in providing drugs must bear the consequences, the meeting resolved.

The meeting further resolved that CSOs, law enforcing agencies should work together to root out drugs from the state of Manipur for a better and drug free society.

The programme was attended by chairman PDA, L Rameshor Meitei; advisor Committee Against Anti-Social Element Kiyamgei Muslim, Md Ahmed Raja and others.
