Chief Minister N Biren Singh met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his official residence located at Lok Kalyan Marg, New Delhi on Wednesday, as a part of his current visit to the National Capital.
During his meeting with Modi, Biren had a detailed discussion on a wide range of subjects in various sectors, including roads and bridges, water resources, drinking water supply, building infrastructure, airport development, livelihoods and law and order, among others.
The prevailing situation of COVID-19 pandemic and the state's efforts in tackling the same were also conveyed by the chief minister.
Thanking the prime minister for all the assistance and guidance provided by the Central Government in tackling the pandemic, Biren highlighted the state's focus on ensuring timely progress of ongoing works and sought Central assistance in meeting developmental gaps. Further, he invited the prime inister for laying foundation stones and inauguration of several major projects in the state.
The Prime Minister, accepting the invitation, also assured to further extend all possible assistance from the Centre in the state's developmental efforts and also in tackling the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Prime Minister also congratulated N Biren and the people of Manipur for the excellent performances shown by athletes of the state in the ongoing Tokyo Olympics, 2020 and expressed his hopefulness that Manipur would produce many more winners in future Olympics and other international events.
