Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Saturday laid the foundation stone of 10 new centres to be constructed at several places in the state.
The sites for the 10 centres are Charhajare, Kangpokpi district, Nongada Kameng, Heingang public ground, Loktak Lairembi Ground(Thanga), Kshetrigao, Yairipok Top Chingtha, Mayang Imphal Thana Awang Leikai, Nambol Makha Club ground, Kakching Khunou playground and Kongpal Kongkham Leikai.
The chief minister also inaugurated a newly constructed building of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Multi Utility Youth Centre, Luwangshangbam.
The CM applauded the concerned stakeholders for completing these projects within record time, this will cater for the requirements of the young generation of the state to harness their energy in the right direction and thereby contribute to the progress of the nation.
The event was attended by Manipur Development Society (MDS) chairman M Asnikumar Singh, Union MoS for External Affairs and Education RK Ranjan Singh; MP (LS) Lorho S Pfoze and officials of MDS.
These youth centres will be constructed by MDS with the funding from the State Planning department.
