A ‘Mega Cleanliness Drive and Plog Run’ as part of Clean India 2.0 was organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Thoubal under the Ministry of Youth Affairs at District Hospital Thoubal and Khangabok Higher Secondary School on Wednesday.
A release by NYK Thoubal stated that the cleanliness drive as part of the ongoing Clean India 2.0 campaign to be held from October 1 to 31 was organised by NYK Thoubal in collaboration with District Administration Thoubal, Thoubal Municipal Council, District Health Society Thoubal, Indian Red Cross Society, along with NSS and NCC Units of Khangabok Higher Secondary School.
The cleanliness drive commenced at Khangabok Higher Secondary School campus at 7 am followed by a Plogging Run from the school campus to District Hospital Thoubal, it added.
It informed that the drive was participated by volunteers of NYK Thoubal, students from Khangabok Higher Secondary School, and staff of the collaborating offices. The participants collected 108 kg of single-use plastic wastes, it stated.
Meanwhile, NYK Chandel also organised the ‘Mega Cleanliness Drive and Plog Run’ in collaboration with Holistic Development KBC, Kapaam Youth Club, Echo Club Kapaam, NSS Units and 65(M) Girls Bn NCC of SEMCO College and District Administration Chandel, it informed. Over 100 youths participated in the cleanliness drive and about 100 KGs of plastic waste were collected, it added.
It also stated that NYK Thoubal launched Clean India 2.0 on Gandhi Jayanti October 2 of 2022 in collaboration with District Administration Thoubal and Thoubal Municipal Council.
