Churachandpur traffic police personnel rewarded with Rs 1 lakh

A video clip of Henjoy Vaiphei performing his duty at Churachandpur in the heavy rain went viral on social media.

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh handed over a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh to a traffic personnel and a recognition of good service to BT Henjoy Vaiphei of Churachandpur traffic Police for his ‘exemplary dedication’ on Wednesday.

A video clip of Henjoy Vaiphei performing his duty at Churachandpur in the heavy rain went viral on social media.

Chief minister N Biren Singh also shared the video clip on his Facebook wall with a caption that read, “His dedication to service is truly commendable. Tomorrow I‘ll be handing out a cash reward for his exemplary commitment to serve the public.”

Following the announcement, BT Henjoy Vaiphei was called at the chief minister’s secretariat andhe was given the cash reward and good service.

“I noticed his work on social media and this is the benefit of using social media,” said Biren.

Henjoy expressed that each traffic police personnel or any individual should know their duty. He further appealed to the public to follow traffic rules.

Superintendent of police, traffic K Ajitkumar Sharma told the Imphal Free Press over the phone that most of the traffic police personnel are doing their duties with dedication. However, violations of traffic rules are witnessed sometimes in the Imphal city area.

The traffic issue in the Imphal city area can only be controlled when the public starts cooperating with the traffic police by following the rules and regulations.

He appealed to the public to strictly follow traffic rules and regulations in order to avoid unwanted incidents and prevent traffic congestion
