Churachandpur assembly constituency MLA LM Khaute on Monday inspected the road construction and repair works which are being taken up at four locations under his assembly constituency.
Accompanied by his workers, village elders and officials from PWD, Churachandpur, he inspected the repair work being done at the roads under his MLA local area development fund.
He said that there were no funds available for taking up repairs or maintenance under the PWD. He has taken up the repair work to fulfill the demands by the people, he further said, adding, he is approaching the Central government for a total makeover of the road and the process is underway.
He also said that the National Highways projects undertaken by NHIDCL had a provision for maintenance but that was not the case with the road construction under PWD, PMGSY etc.
PWD officials who accompanied the MLA said that they do not have maintenance funds, and the ongoing works are the initiatives of the MLA.
