Gandhi Jayanti was observed at the Churachandpur Medical College in a unique way with a Gandhi impersonator, Lokendro, and the medical college team led by its director, Prof S Iboyaima Singh, sweeping and cleaning the campus of the medical college.
The director said they had gathered at the, yet to be inaugurated, Churachandpur Medical College to clean the campus and propagate the ideas that were infused to all Indians by the Father of the Nation, i.e., to motivate all to have a sense of cleanliness.
The director also talked about the need for cleanliness and serving the sick, stating that it's important to have a clean surrounding and also a clean mind as it enlightens one to serve and ease the sufferings of others. He said that the medical fraternity is to serve the country and mankind with a purified mind and that they are the centre point in serving the country.
The occasion also is also the last day of Seva Pakhwada which is observed to celebrate the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi by serving the people in various ways, said the Director.
The programme was graced as a special guest by Khatkhotong Baite, Chairman of Election Committee of Churachandpur MLA, Faculty Members of CMC, President of Zomi Mother Association, Chingngaihdon among others.
