Founder and director of CATCH Ministry Fiona Goimei on Saturday exhorted the children not to be swayed or easily tempted by the worldly desires but remain steadfast on the teachings of the one true God and Saviour Jesus Christ.
She was speaking during the 2nd day of a four-day district level children festival. The 3rd district level children festival is being organised by the Children’s Ministry of Zeliangrong Baptist Church, Tamenglong (BCUI) at the church complex.
She further urged all the children by taking example of the lives of Daniel and his friends Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego from the book of the bible in Daniel Chapter 3 who through their firm belief in the true God of Israel, withstood the temptations and imposition of worldly rules. She encouraged the children to follow the path of righteousness and be examples to their peers, family and neighbors.
Speaking of the different kinds of temptations, citing examples of drug addiction, pornography, pride, corruption, etc, she urged the congregation to stay away from them through focusing on God with prayers and love him wholeheartedly.
Hundreds of Sunday school children from 13 churches, pastors and parents attended the cultural day with beautiful colourful dresses.
The children festival is being organised to showcase talents, art, music and dance, Biblical sermons and celebrating God’s abundant blessings.
The festival aims to instil Christian values with a touch of traditions and culture into the upcoming generation so that they become mature followers of Jesus Christ and not forsaking the roots.
The festival is featuring choir competition, showcasing tradition and culture, talent show from all the children of different churches in Tamenglong town.
