A sit-in-protest was organised near St Peter School, Chandel, by the Anal Sinnu Ruwl (ASR) and Maring Napuiya Yinglam (MNY) under the aegis of Naga Women Union Manipur (NWUM) in protest against the crime against two women who were paraded naked by a mob.
MYN president Hoinu Charanga said the organisation vehemently condemned the actions of parading two defenceless women naked.
It urged the authorities concerned to take exemplary action against the culprits.
The MNY president further urged the state to prevent similar incidents against women and children in the future, failing which it warned to launch extreme forms of protest.
The protesters displayed placards which read "Hold the police accountable", "arrest the culprits, respect the dignity of women we condemned the barbaric act" among others.
