Chandel: NSUC demands reasonable rate for issuing documents

The Naga Students' Union Chandel (NSUC) on Tuesday appealed to the Chandel SDO office to charge a reasonable rate for issuing documents such as ST certificate, residential certificate, domicile certificate, income certificate and others.

The downloading and printing of the said documents should be done in the SDO office itself, NSUC stated in a release.

NSUC stated that the SDC Chandel retired in February and since then the post remained vacant till date. The public is facing difficulties whenever there is a requirement for the SDC’s counter signature in the absence of the SDO, Chandel, it mentioned.

In this regard, NSUC also urged the department concerned to make necessary arrangements.

It also demanded that charges for name correction of Job-Cards (MGNREG-A) as per the Aadhaar cards should be made at a reasonable rate.

The current rate charged is Rs 100 or 150 for each correction of per job-card holder's name, by the employed officials shall not be tolerated, it stated, adding, the union will not remain a silent spectator.

The release is issued in the interest of the students' community mostly and the public of Chandel district, largely, NSUC added.
