The Chakpikarong Youth Club (CYC) on Thursday celebrated 60 years of its existence at the Chakpikarong village, Chandel district in Manipur under the theme, “Acknowledge, Celebrate and Embrace”.
Formed in the year 1963, the club completed 60 years of its existence this year, i.e. 2023.
The diamond jubilee of the Chakpikarong Youth Club was graced by Hb Hmunkhel, Asst. Professor United College, Lambung as the chief guest; Ts Chaman, ASP Chandel as the functional president while Sp Lovejoy, District Agriculture Officer, Chandel; Jameson Bungdon, Assistant Engineer, PHED and Nula Stephen, Sub-Registrar, Dept of Cooperative Societies, Chandel as the guests of honour.
Ts Berek, chief of Chakpikarong Village was the chief host of the event.
Addressing the event, the chief guest, Hb Hmunkhel, acknowledged the organizing committee and encouraged the Youth Club and its members to inculcate characters such as dignity of labor, being sincere, humble, hardworking and being ambitious. The founding members of the club and those who came after them have taken the club thus far and it is now time for the present youth to take it forward, he said.
CYC President Bd. Onahring, in his presidential note, acknowledged the former executives and members of the club and highlighted the history of the club. Thanking everyone for the support towards the success of the celebration, he assured to take the club forward with the support of the members and the elders.
The celebration was marked by various events such as cultural songs, dances, releasing of jubilee souvenirs.
Leaders of various CSOs of the Anal community such as ANTA, ALT, ALS, ASR, ALCA, etc. attended the celebration and showed their support towards the club.
