CEO Manipur launches signature campaign for free and fair election

The signature campaign launched on Friday is to promote voters in large numbers for a free, fair and peaceful manner without fear, Chief Election Officer of Manipur PK Jha said.

The Chief Election Officer of Manipur on Friday launched a signature campaign in Manipur to increase the voting percentage, for a free and fair election and to boost electoral participation in the state.

The signature campaign was launched at CEO electoral office located at Lamphelpat, which aimed at encouraging all eligible voters, particularly the youth to cast their votes.

Manipur CEO PK Jha said that the two Lok Sabha seats in the state, Inner and Outer Manipur, will go to the polls in the first two phases on April 19 and April 26, respectively. The signature campaign launched on Friday is to promote voters in large numbers for a free, fair and peaceful manner without fear, he added.

Various creative campaigns and explainer videos on applications like cVIGIL, 1950 (toll free), Know Your Candidate, Sadam and voter helpline have been used to spread awareness and to promote ethical voting, said CEO Manipur.

He also said that the large hoardings and posters with information on empowering the voters have been installed at strategic locations across Manipur.
